Which PS5 works
Rockstar lists PlayStation 5 as a launch platform. Because the boxed version contains a download code rather than a disc, the disc drive does not matter: a standard PS5 and a PS5 Digital Edition both install the game from the PlayStation Store.
Free storage matters more than the model. Rockstar has not published an install size in the support article we checked; reported figures above 200 GB come from the PlayStation Store listing and press coverage. Check the size shown on your own console's store page before pre-load day.
Any PS5 Pro-specific enhancements are not described in the Rockstar and Take-Two sources we checked. Treat claims about Pro-only modes as unconfirmed until they appear on the PlayStation Store listing.
Digital vs boxed: what you actually get
| Format | What it contains | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Digital — Standard | The game, licensed to your PlayStation account. | Digital orders placed before 20 Nov 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+. |
| Digital — Ultimate | The game plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade content. | Digital only. There is no boxed Ultimate Edition. |
| Boxed — Standard | A download code for the game and the Vintage Vice City Pack. No disc. | Rockstar expects retail availability from 12 Nov; codes can be used as soon as you receive them. |
| Ultimate Edition Upgrade | Add-on that turns Standard into Ultimate. | Bought separately in the PlayStation Store after the Standard code is redeemed. |
PlayStation account regions and code compatibility
Rockstar Support states that code region restrictions are based on the region of your platform account — not your location, IP address or the language of the box. A PlayStation code only redeems on an account registered in one of the countries of the group it was sold for. Rockstar recommends buying from a retailer in the same country as your account.
| Code group | Account countries listed by Rockstar |
|---|---|
| North America | Canada, United States |
| United Kingdom | United Kingdom |
| Rest of EMEA and Asia | Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine |
| Saudi Arabia & UAE | Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates |
| Japan | Japan — Rockstar notes product codes expire 170 days after the 19 Nov 2026 launch |
| Korea | South Korea |
| Rest of Asia | Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand |
| Oceania | Australia, New Zealand |
| Brazil | Brazil |
| LATAM | Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay |
Changing your account country to fit a cheaper code is not something we recommend: PlayStation account countries generally cannot be switched freely, and a code bought for the wrong group may be impossible to use or refund.
Redeeming a code safely
- Sign in to your own PlayStation account on the console or at the PlayStation Store, then use "Redeem codes".
- Confirm the product name says Grand Theft Auto VI for PS5 before you confirm — not a soundtrack, add-on or an older GTA.
- Keep your receipt and the code card until the game shows as purchased in your library.
- Never share your account password or two-step codes with a seller "to activate" a game.
Before you buy for PS5
- You own a PS5 (any model) with enough free storage for the size shown in your store.
- The seller's country matches your PlayStation account's code group.
- You know which edition you are paying for, and whether the price includes tax.
- Your pre-order date matters if you want the Vintage Vice City Pack (before 20 Nov 2026).
What GAMEKEY GLOBAL does not promise
- We sell US-account PS5 codes as pre-orders, delivered on your order page. We do not sell accounts. See the terms of sale.
